Poppies
It was our honour and privilege to work with many different organisations this year across Littleover and Blagreaves to liaise with the community to install street poppies around Littleover and Blagreaves wards.
Thanks to all those involved and who stepped up to help us. Pictures below

Poppy Trail
Starting at St Peter's Church Littleover, at the noticeboard by the steps on Normanton Lane visit 8 different stops on a short trail around Littleover until 12 November 2025. It will allow you to explore the meanings of the orange, yellow, blue, green, purple, black and white poppies.
At Greener Littleover we are passionate about the green poppy as it symbolises remembrance that connects directly to nature, renewal, and the environment. We embraces it because it reflects both respect for the past and hope for a sustainable future.
Nature and regeneration: Green is the colour of life, growth, and sustainability. The green poppy reminds us that peace is not only about the absence of war but also about nurturing the earth so that future generations can thrive.
A broader lens of remembrance: It invites people to reflect not just on human sacrifice, but also on the landscapes, habitats, and ecosystems damaged by war and industrialisation.
