Ernie is not just a storybook character. He is the real-life Cockapoo belonging to Greener Derby founder, Ali Davies-Marsh. Ernie loves exploring, sniffing out new adventures and discovering the world around him, making him the perfect guide for young nature lovers.

Ali wrote the first book to encourage families and children to explore some of Derby's wonderful parks and open spaces, helping them spot the plants, animals and hidden treasures that are often overlooked. While the story is inspired by Derby, you don't need to know the city to enjoy Ernie's adventures. Each nature hunt can be taken to your own local park, woodland, neighbourhood or favourite outdoor space, wherever you live.

The Ernie series will continue with more adventures to come, as Ernie discovers new places, meets new friends and inspires children to connect with the natural world.
